Abstract
Dust particles issues in large urban areas in Thailand have become serious city-level
problem. One of the main emission source of urban dust is from traffic. In this work,
I focused on the road dusts by monitoring dust particles along the track in the moving
vehicle. Based on the data obtained, it was found that road dusts in the urban areas
and large cities were much higher than the suburbs and rural areas. In addition to the
traffic volume, weather condition was also found as a main influence. This result agrees
with and supports the explanation of PM10 and PM2.5 episodic events in Bangkok and
vicinities and could bring about the systematic dust particle management solution in
Thailand 4.0 era by considering emission source, media, and receptors.
