Abstract
In the past, Thailand’s developments emphasized on economic dimension that
impacts natural resource and environment enormously. This causes the deterioration
of natural resources and creates an environmental impact onto the present which lead
to environmental conflicts in Thailand. Therefore, environmental good governance is
expected to be an effective approach for managing environmental problems in Thailand.
The research aims to 1) study environmental governance framework in Thailand and
2) study and present to environmental governance operation for sustainable development
an adaptation of Thailand 4.0. The study was undertaken through qualitative research
by using in-depth interview; case study analysis and documentary review method. The
research finding revealed that Thailand create good governance framework clearly at
the constitutional level. According to the case study, it was found that an organization
complies with good governance principal by strict compliancy to rules and law.
The organization discloses operation’s information which can be verified and also encourages
stakeholder’s participation in decision-making in order to find preventive and mitigating
solutions. The 2017 Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand just enacted, thus, Thai
Government should increase knowledge and understanding about Environmental concept
of this constitution among Thai people and private sectors, immediately. The government
sector should reduce the legal gap by enacting subordinate legislation to ensure that
environmental management can be effectively implemented for sustainable development
in an adaptation of Thailand 4.0.
