Enhancing firm growth potential: The role of societal institutions
Abstract
This study examines the role that societal institutions play in influencing the growth potential
of firms. Specially, this study examines how societal institutions affect the value of firm
growth propensity, and how the size of the firm moderates this relationship. The results show
that various societal institutions have considerable effects on firm growth potential,
depending on the type of societal institutions. And these effects are stronger for smaller firms
than for larger firms. Future research and managerial implications are provided.
