If you’ve made the decision to further your study, you need to be prepared, get ready, forget your worries, and step on the gas pedal and drive!

If continuing your study is to start your car for a new journey that you’re not familiar with, there’s no need to worry, you just need to be prepared, have a good plan, let go of your worries, and come with us. This is “PCR course for further study.”

Trip Planning for a Long Holiday: Planning for Further Study

Before we begin our long vacation, the first thing we need to tackle is to plan our trip. We need to know where we are going, how we are going to get there, and what our study destination is.

For a master’s degree, our study plan is:

(1) Choose the field of study and examine the curriculum and courses offered whether they answer your question. Is there any interesting place along the journey; for example, can the courses be applied to our line of work? Is the curriculum adequately modern for our needs and responsive to our desired job market?

(2) Start researching where and what institution or university that matches our need. Choosing where to study depends on our need; whether domestic or abroad.

Currently, NIDA is an autonomous institute offering post-graduate degrees, only masters and doctorates. There are more than 54 programs under 11 schools, and one college which are internationally accredited by AUN-QA, TedQual, and AACSB. NIDA also has the highest rate of faculties with academic distinctions in the country. That honor guarantees the quality of our programs and curricula that are consistently developed and accepted. In addition, NIDA alumni network has expressed their satisfaction with NIDA, with 89.4% stating that the knowledge gained from NIDA can be applied in their life. As such, NIDA is prepared to help build a path for you to become the next future leader.

Engine Check-up: Prepare for Further Study

Checking our car engine before embarking on a journey is not different than preparing for continuing your study. This can be divided into two tasks: (1) physical and mental readiness and (2) financial readiness.

  1. Although your physical readiness is important, you should also prepare for the mental one. And even though you may need moral support from your loved ones, it is you who must support and encourage yourself through thick and thin of the journey. No matter the obstacles, you must believe in yourself and believe that you are ready for this journey and go through with it.
  2. While some people might think that the budget and other expenses do not carry much significance, in reality this is a very important component for your decision-making process because these expenses, including tuition fees, daily expenses, or travel expenses, do add up. There are also many other minor expenses that are often overlooked such as expenses on making reports, thesis, translation services, commuting costs, and other personal expenses. All of these items should be taken into consideration. If the overall expenses turn out to be higher than expected, you should not be concerned as there is financial assistance, such as scholarships.

For NIDA, three types of merit-based scholarships are available for master’s and doctoral degrees.
