How to Apply
Step 1: Select the visa type that matches the purpose of your visit and prepare all the required documents.
Step 2: Submit your application at the Royal Thai Embassy or Royal Thai Consulate-General, and pay the visa processing fee.
Step 3: Your application and supporting documents will be reviewed. If any required documents are missing, the application may be rejected, and the visa processing fee will not be refunded.
Step 4: Your visa application will be processed, resulting in either approval or rejection.
Step 5: Collect your visa on the scheduled appointment date.
Note: Nationals of certain countries are required to apply for a visa only at the Royal Thai Embassy or Royal Thai Consulate-General in their country of residence, or at a designated Thai Embassy/Consulate-General. Students are advised to contact the nearest Thai Embassy or Consulate-General to confirm eligibility and application procedures. Notice
In accordance with the Immigration Act of Thailand B.E. 2522 (1979), the following categories of foreigners are prohibited from entering Thailand:
- Individuals without a valid passport or equivalent travel document, or those holding a valid passport without a visa issued by the Royal Thai Embassies, Royal Thai Consulates-General, or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (except for those who qualify for visa exemption). Visa issuance and exemption conditions are outlined by Ministerial Regulations.
- Individuals who do not have sufficient means of living after entering Thailand.
- Individuals seeking employment as unskilled or untrained laborers, or those intending to work in violation of the Alien Work Permit Law.
- Individuals who are mentally unstable or suffer from diseases listed in the Ministerial Regulations.
- Individuals who have not been vaccinated against smallpox or other required diseases, and refuse vaccinations administered by the Immigration Doctor.
- Individuals who have been imprisoned by a Thai court’s judgment, or by a lawful order or judgment of a foreign court, unless the offense is minor, due to negligence, or falls under exceptions outlined by Ministerial Regulations.
- Individuals whose behavior poses a potential danger to the public, or who may be a nuisance or a threat to public peace, safety, security, or national security, as well as individuals with outstanding arrest warrants from foreign governments.
- Individuals suspected of intending to engage in prostitution, human trafficking (including women and children), drug smuggling, or other immoral activities.
- Individuals without the required financial means or bond as specified by the Minister under Section 14 of the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 (1979).
- Individuals prohibited from entering the country by the Minister under Section 16 of the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 (1979).
- Individuals who have been deported by the Thai government or a foreign government, had their right to stay revoked, or have been expelled from Thailand by authorized officials at the expense of the Thai government, unless exempted by the Minister on a case-by-case basis.
E-Passport Application
1. Required Documents for E-Passport Application (Juristic Person)
1.1 The original, valid Thai Citizenship I.D. Card, Government Official Identification Card, or another identification card in accordance with the rules of the Ministry of Interior.
Note: If using a Government Official Identification Card, the applicant must also provide their House Registration.
1.2 If there are discrepancies related to the name, surname, date of birth, or other personal information on the Thai Citizenship I.D. Card, relevant official documents, such as a Name or Surname Change Certificate, must also be provided.
1.3 E-Passport Fees (Standard Processing)
– 5-year passport: 1,000 Baht
– 10-year passport: 1,500 Baht
1.4 E-Passport Fees (Urgent Processing)
– 5-year passport: 3,000 Baht
– 10-year passport: 3,500 Bah
2. Steps to Reapply for a New Passport
2.1 Take a queue number.
2.2 Present your valid Thai Citizenship I.D. Card with a 13-digit Personal Number to the receptionist.
Note: If the I.D. Card does not have a 13-digit Personal Number, the applicant must bring their House Registration along with any necessary documents, such as a Name Change Certificate or Marriage Registration, for verification.
2.3 Provide biometric data, including height, fingerprints (both left and right), and facial features, using the provided scanners.
2.4 Optional: Apply for postal delivery service, if preferred.
3. Payment and Passport Collection
3.1 If applying at the Department of Consular Affairs, you can collect your E-Passport 2 working days after submitting the application. For postal service, the passport will be delivered via EMS within 5 working days.
3.2 For applications submitted at the Temporary Passport Offices in Bangkok (Pinklao and Bangna), passports can be collected 2 working days after the application date. If using postal service, it will be sent via EMS within 5 working days.
3.3 Applicants applying at Temporary Passport Offices in other provinces and opting for postal service will receive their E-Passport via EMS within 5 working days.

Work Permit
How to apply for a work permit
The following documents are required:
1.A valid passport, certificate of permanent residence, or alien certificate (original and copy). For passport holders, include photocopies of the following passport pages:
a. The first two pages with your photo and personal details.
b. Pages showing your visa and entry stamp.
2.A letter of employment from the relevant department, stating the reasons for employment, an organization chart of the workplace, and a list of current foreign workers.
3.Documentary evidence of your educational qualifications or a CV/resume.
4.A medical certificate issued within the last six months.
5.Employment certificate form.
6.Official cover page.
7.Three passport-sized photographs taken within the last six months.
8.A copy of the Agreement for Employment of an Alien.
9.Completed Form WP 2.
10.Completed Form WP 10.
11.A completed Power of Attorney form with a 10 Baht duty stamp, along with a copy of the designee’s identification card.
How to extend a work permit
To extend your work permit, please ensure the following documents are submitted:
1.A valid passport, certificate of permanent residence, or alien certificate (original and copy). For passport holders, include photocopies of the following passport pages:
a. The first two pages showing your photo and personal details.
b. Pages showing your visa and entry stamp.
2.A completed Form WP 5 along with a copy of your current Work Permit.
3.A completed Power of Attorney form, affixed with a 10 baht duty stamp, and a copy of the designee’s identification card.
4.A letter of employment from the relevant department, explaining the reasons for employment, and providing an organization chart of the workplace and a list of current foreign workers.

Health Insurance for International Students
At NIDA, we offer health insurance guidance for international students in partnership with Allianz Ayudhya Insurance Company. Participation in this insurance program is optional for NIDA students. If you wish to enroll, please contact your program coordinator.
Advising Procedure:
- Contacting: Students should first reach out to their program coordinator at their respective school or contact the Office of International Affairs (OIA).
- Submitting: To apply, students must complete the application form, provide a copy of their passport, and pay the insurance premium (please note that the fee is updated annually) to the OIA.
- Approving: The OIA will forward the submitted documents to the Vice President for Academic and International Affairs for review and approval.
- Processing: Once approved, the OIA will send the application forms and a list of enrolled students to the Allianz Ayudhya coordinator for processing.
- Issuing: Allianz Ayudhya will provide the NIDA insurance card, an insurance booklet, and a premium invoice.
- Paying: The OIA will process the payment for the insurance premium directly to Allianz Ayudhya.
- Collecting: Finally, the OIA will contact students to arrange the collection of their insurance card and booklet.

- Completed Application: Fill out the health insurance application form.
- Passport Copy: Provide a copy of the page in your passport that contains your personal information.
- Student ID Card: Include your student ID card, if applicable.
- Insurance Fee Payment: Submit payment for the insurance fee.
- Insurance Policy Copy: Provide a copy of your insurance policy.
