NIDA Sets the Stage to Host the 2nd International Sustainable Development Debate in Celebration of Its 59th Anniversary

On Thursday, August 7, 2025, Professor Tippawan Lorsuwannarat, Ph.D., President of the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), visited the preparations for the 2nd International Sustainable Development Debate, held to celebrate NIDA’s 59th anniversary. The event is organized by the Office of International Affairs, under the International Relations and Corporate Communication Division, led by Associate Professor Pattrawut Charoenroop, Ph.D., Assistant to the President for International Affairs.

The visit was also honored by the presence of Assistant Professor Sid Suntrayuth, Ph.D., Dean of the International College at NIDA, along with Ajarn Passamon Lertchalermtipakoon, Acting Associate Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts at Huachiew Chalermprakiet University. Ajarn Passamon accompanied a group of faculty members and students chosen to participate in the debate, who took part in the visit to observe the final preparations. Staff from the Office of International Affairs were also present during the session.

This year, there has been enthusiastic participation from both Thai and international students, who have signed up to compete and attend as observers. The debate’s final round is scheduled for Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at NIDA. The International Sustainable Development Debate offers a valuable platform for Thai and international students to share their perspectives and engage in dialogue on global administration and development issues. It also serves to strengthen NIDA’s relationships with partner universities abroad, including institutions in China and Singapore, fostering ongoing academic collaboration.

The debate motions align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on key topics such as Free Education, Global Warming, Gender Equality, and Climate Change. These themes reflect NIDA’s core vision: “Wisdom for Sustainable Development.”
