On Monday, January 27, 2025, the Office of International Affairs (OIA) organized a Chinese New Year celebration in Room 805 on the 8th floor of the Prince Naradhip Bongsprabandha Building. This event aimed to enhance relationships among NIDA’s administrators, faculty, staff, international students, and Thai students in NIDA’s English and international programs. Moreover, it provided a valuable opportunity for cultural exchange and insight into the significance of the Chinese New Year for our international student community.
Approximately 140 attendees from eight different countries, including the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, the Federation of Russia, the Federal Republic of Germany, and the Kingdom of Thailand, actively participated in the celebration. Distinguished guests included Professor Tippawan Lorsuwannarat, Ph.D., President; Assistant Professor Pattrawut Charoenroop, Ph.D., Assistant to the President for International Affairs; Associate Professor Achakorn Wongpreedee, Ph.D., Dean of the Graduate School of Public Administration; Associate Professor Asawin Nedpogaeo, Ph.D., Dean of the Graduate School of Communication Arts and Innovation Management; Associate Professor Goto Hiroki, as well as lecturers Mr. Andrew James West from the Graduate School of Language and Communication; and Dr. Siyathorn Nakphin, Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of the Graduate School of Tourism Management, alongside other staff members from the Division.
The program commenced with the sharing of personal experiences related to the Chinese New Year, followed by a demonstration of calligraphy, the traditional art of paper cutting, and performances featuring Chinese songs and dances by NIDA executives and Chinese students.
