NIDA’s International Partner and Collaboration

NIDA’s international unit is a supportive liaison function responsible for facilitating communications and cooperation with external entities and institutions, both domestic and international, in academic programs and research.

The core responsibilities according to the written missions are the following:

  • Collaborating and conducting cooperative projects with international entities or organizations in various areas including academia, training, scholar and personnel exchange, study trip, academic conference, and other academic-related agenda at both regional and international levels.
  • Facilitating and organizing events (e.g., event hosting, study trip), facilitating visa application process, work permit, and other consular services for scholars and foreign students.
  • Coordinating and negotiating for budgets allocated from the Government and other sources, as well as other budgeting procedures related to international activities.
  • Responsible for administration of international scholarships, training, international study trips for personnel and students.
  • Coordinating with and facilitating scholars and foreign students on housing and living arrangements.
  • Coordinating on information database of international programs, including for example promoting the Institute’s programs and activities to international audience; and providing information on academic programs or study exchange with international institutions for NIDA’s personnel and students.
  • Overseeing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating partnership projects with international organizations and other international activities.
  • Coordinating with international liaison unit under Office of the Higher Education Commission and other higher education institutions at both domestic and international levels.
