Between May 12 to 13, 2025, a delegation from the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), led by Professor Tippawan Lorsuwannarat, Ph.D., Acting President of NIDA, visited Shanghai, People’s Republic of China, to enhance academic and technological cooperation, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence (AI).
On May 12, the delegation visited East China Normal University (ECNU), one of NIDA’s MoU partner institutions. The visit centered on discussions about integrating AI technologies to support NIDA’s institutional mission. The delegation was welcomed by Professor Qian Xuhong, Ph.D., President of ECNU, along with senior administrators and deans from the School of Data Science and Engineering, the School of Public Management, and the School of Foreign Languages. The delegation also attended a demonstration lecture on AI applications at the Shanghai AI-Finance School and toured the Human-centered AI for Education Laboratory.
On May 13, the delegation visited the Smart Government Office of Songjiang District, an administrative body in Shanghai, to observe how AI is being utilized in public administration and service delivery. The delegation was welcomed by Ms. Shi Jianying, Deputy Party Secretary of Songjiang District, and Mr. Jiang Zenyou, CEO of Hexagon, along with senior executives. The host introduced the district’s cutting-edge smart technologies, designed to support China’s rapidly expanding industrial sector. The visit concluded with a meeting to explore potential avenues for future collaboration and the development of strategic partnerships.
