“NIDA: The Next Chapter” Executives Meet the NIDA Community 2025

Presentation of the President’s Vision for the Second Term and Introduction of the New Executive Team, Alongside the Official Launch of “NIDA – Sikhio Campus”

On February 7, 2025, the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) hosted the event “NIDA: The Next Chapter” to announce the vision of the President for her second term and to introduce the new executive team, as well as to officially launch the “NIDA – Sikhio Campus.” The event was attended by executives, faculty members, staff, and alumni, gathering in large numbers at the Chira Boonmak Hall, Siam Boromrajakumari Building, NIDA. The event was also broadcast live online via Microsoft Teams.

President’s Address on Past Achievements and Future Vision

Professor Tippawan Lorsuwannarat, Ph.D., President of NIDA, presented the institute’s accomplishments over the past three years (2022–2024), highlighting significant successes in curriculum development, research, and academic services. She also outlined her vision for the second term, focusing on advancing NIDA into a leading graduate institution at both national and international levels, enhancing its competitiveness, and fostering the creation of knowledge and innovation beneficial to communities, society, and the nation.

Transition of Leadership and Introduction of the New Executive Team

During the event, a token of appreciation was presented to the outgoing executives whose terms will conclude in February, namely:

  • Associate Professor Amornrat Apinunmahakul, Ph.D. – Vice President for Planning and Community Engagement
  • Associate Professor Prapon Sahapattana, Ph.D. – Vice President for Administration and Digital Technology

Following this, the new Vice Presidents were introduced, each entrusted with a vital mission to lead NIDA in their respective fields:

  • Associate Professor Sombat Kusumavalee, Ph.D. – Vice President for Academic and International Affairs
  • Professor Wisakha Phoochinda, Ph.D. – Vice President for Research and Academic Services
  • Associate Professor Tatchawan Kanitpong, Ph.D. – Vice President for Planning and Community Engagement
  • Assistant Professor Sarawut Jansuwan, Ph.D. – Vice President for Administration and Digital Technology

Grand Announcement: The Establishment of “NIDA – Sikhio Campus”

A major highlight of the event was the announcement of the official establishment of the “NIDA – Sikhio Campus.” The President shared this exciting news as a significant achievement made possible through the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders, including the NIDA Council, executives, pioneering faculty members of the Sikhio initiative, students, alumni, relevant government agencies, local community leaders, and residents.
This milestone was formalized with the publication in the Royal Gazette on January 17, 2025, officially designating the Sikhio Educational Center as “NIDA – Sikhio Campus” in Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The new campus will act as a central hub for expanding educational opportunities and enhancing human resource development in the Northeastern region, in line with three primary objectives:

1.Graduate-Level Education: Providing specialized programs in national development administration and cultivating change agents for leadership transformation.
2.Academic Services: Offering training, consultation, and various academic support services for local leaders, administrators, entrepreneurs, and the public.
3.Research and Innovation: Conducting studies, promoting innovation, and generating new knowledge in development administration to address challenges within the Northeastern region and neighboring provinces.

The event concluded with an open forum where the executive team addressed questions from the NIDA community. Following this, the President, together with executives, council members, faculty, staff, and the NIDA Alumni Association, reaffirmed their commitment to the “No Gift Policy,” a declaration to refuse all gifts and gratuities in the course of their official duties. This initiative aims to uphold transparency, integrity, and anti-corruption practices, reinforcing ethical governance within the institution.
