Official Visit by the Delegates from National Institute of International Strategy (NIIS), Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Republic of China

            On December 9, 2023, NIDA (National Institute of Development Administration) had the honor of hosting a visit from a delegation representing the National Institute of International Strategy (NIIS) of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in the Republic of China. The delegates included Mr. Li Bin, the Director of Asian and African Affairs Division, Bureau of International Cooperation, Mr. Liu Libin, the Deputy Director General of NIIS, Prof. XU Liping, Prof. Zhang Zhongyuan, Asst. Prof. Yang Chao, and Asst. Prof. Fan Jiarui. NIDA welcomed the delegation with the presence of esteemed representatives, including Prof. Dr. Wisakha Phoochinda, the Vice President for Research and Academic Services, Asst. Prof. Dr. Li Renliang, the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of the Graduate School of Social Development and Management Strategy, Dr. Gorn Huvanandana, the Deputy Director of the Research Bureau at NIDA, and Ms. Nipa Chumsuk, the Director of International Relations and Corporate Communication Division, along with other NIDA staff members.

            The purpose of the visit was to facilitate formal reception and engage in academic discussions between the two institutions. The meeting took place in Meeting Room 802, situated on the 8th floor of the Prince Naradhip Bongsprabandha Building. During the meeting, fruitful discussions were held regarding the establishment of academic cooperation activities across various fields.

            The focus was on joint research initiatives, student exchange programs, and young scholarship programs. The topics included collaborative efforts and co-authoring research proposals in the future. Prof. Dr. Wisakha Phoochinda and Dr. Gorn Huvanandana provided valuable insights during the discussions, particularly pertaining to the Research Bureau. Additionally, they extended invitations to the representatives to participate in an international conference scheduled to be held at NIDA in August, 2024.
