NIDA Delegates Visit Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST)

            The delegation led by Dr. Bongkot Jenjarrussakul, Director of Information and Digital Technology Center (IDT), and Assistant Professor Dr. Sarawut Jansuwan, Director of NIDA Smart Compact City Center, NIDA S2C°, visited Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), People’s Republic of China to participate in the 2023 China-ASEAN Digital Economy Development Cooperation Forum and the 6th China-ASEAN Development and Governance Forum on September 25 – 28, 2023. The event was organized by the ASEAN Research Centre, HUST.

            During the visit, Dr. Huang Dong, Director of the ASEAN Research Center at HUST, officially welcomed the delegation. They engaged in discussing and exchanging perspectives to drive collaboration under the operational framework between the People’s Republic of China and ASEAN countries such as Laos, Cambodia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand. In addition, Assistant Professor Dr. Sarawut Jansuwan, Director of NIDA Smart Compact City Center, NIDA S2C°, presented the NIDA Smart Compact City project, highlighting its relevance to digital technology for city management and the sustainable urban model. The presentation was given to a network comprising leaders from public and private sectors, as well as universities from the People’s Republic of China and ASEAN member states.

            The event also featured presentations on research progress related to digital economic development in the People’s Republic of China and ASEAN countries. Furthermore, the Wuhan Declaration on Promoting China-ASEAN Regional Cooperation in Digital Economy Development was announced to drive initiatives for digital economic development cooperation between the People’s Republic of China and ASEAN countries. Additionally, the delegation visited HUST to learn about the university’s history and explore technology and innovations for policy decision-making and research in the field of disaster rescue robotics.
