Official Visit by Delegates from Indiana University (IU), United States of America and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)

On August 4, 2023, Professor Dr. Tippawan Lorsuwannarat – NIDA President, Associate Professor Dr. Sombat Kusumavalee – Vice President for Academic and International Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Aree Manosuthikit – Assistant to the President for International Affairs, Ms. Nipa Chumsuk – Director for International Relations and Corporate Communication Division and NIDA staff officially welcomed and had academic discussion with Professor Dr. Faridah Pawan – IU ASEAN Gateway Academic Director, Dr. J. Adam Scribner – Director of Stem Education Initiatives, IU and Dr. Bryce Smedley – USAID Education Team Lead, Office of Economic Growth, US Embassy Bangkok at the President’s Meeting Room, 10th floor, Prince Nradhip Bongsprabandha Building. Both sides are looking forward to deepening the existing collaborations and expanding the current partnership with new initatives for mutual successes.

This day also witnessed the key highlight of IU and USAID Delegates’s visit. That is, the Graduate School of Language and Communication (GSLC) held the Certificate Conferment Ceremony “IU-NIDA Teacher Professional Development Program” at Hall of Fame, 1st floor, Sayam Boromrajakumari Building. The training course was a two-week (45 hours) teacher development certificate program co-taught by both IU and NIDA professors and attended by 17 Myanmar teacher trainers from different parts of the country. The workshops focused on content-based Instruction and technology in STEM and English language teaching.
