On December 6, 2023, a delegation from NIDA (National Institute of Development Administration) visited the Shanghai Academy of Social Science (SASS) in Shanghai, People’s Republic of China. The delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Tippawan Lorsuwannarat, President of NIDA, and included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sombat Kusumavalee, Vice President for Academic and International Affairs, as well as representatives from various graduate schools at NIDA, such as the Graduate School of Public Administration, Graduate School of Business Administration (NIDA Business School), Graduate School of Social Development and Management Strategy (GSDMS), Graduate School of Law (GSL), and Graduate School of Communication Arts and Management Innovation (GSCM). They were warmly welcomed by the SASS executives, including Prof. QUAN Heng, Party Secretary of SASS, along with the Vice President and representatives from various institutes at SASS, such as the Institute of Journalism, Institute of Sociology, Institute of Applied Economy, Institute of Law, Office of Human Resources & Office of Research and Development, and Office of International Cooperation.
During the visit, both parties engaged in a productive and collaborative dialogue on various aspects of academic cooperation. The discussion points included: (1) Both parties expressed a shared enthusiasm for collaborative research endeavors addressing mutual interests and concerns. (2) SASS students showed great interest in participating in an exchange program at NIDA. (3) SASS organizes prestigious academic conferences annually, providing NIDA with an invaluable opportunity to actively participate and network with a diverse range of scholars. (4) As a testament to their commitment, both institutions are actively working on finalizing a memorandum of understanding on academic cooperation. This formal agreement will solidify their intent to enhance collaborative efforts and promote academic exchange between SASS and NIDA.
