Abstract

In recent years, there has been significant discussion in the business, academic, and popular
press about corporate sustainability. This paper reviews the concepts of corporate sustainability,
addresses key drivers that force automobile corporations to compete on innovations toward
sustainability, and explores the BMW Group, a leading automotive manufacturer, on how it
strategically pursues innovation and management of sustainability.
