Abstract

Information and communication technology has been one of the vital elements in running any type of organization. The investment in information and communication technology has been found to be significant among organizations in the nonprofit sector.

To date there is minimal evidence to support the positive effect of information and communication technology adoption on financial viability indicators within the nonprofit sector. The study is therefore aimed to find this linkage by utilizing the national survey data obtained from the National Statistical Office under the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology in Thailand which includes all nonprofit organizations registered in the country. As a result, only four out of ten hypotheses found to be accepted.

The results of the study indicated a very low level of association between information and communication technology adoption and financial viability indicators among the nonprofit organizations. Nevertheless, policy makers and nonprofit managers should pay attention to factors which relating to computerized work process, sufficient number of computer literate staffs and the extensiveness of internet usage which found to have the statistical significant to financial viability indicators of nonprofit organizations.
