Abstract

The research aimed to: 1.) study the level of work engagement 2.) study the level of organization engagement 3.) study the relations between work engagement and organization engagement 4.) study the factors affecting the level of work engagement and organization engagement, and 5.) make suggestions to enhance work engagement and organization engagement. The sample group was 266 disabilities caregivers in Bangkok Metropolitan Region. Data were collected by questionnaires including eight factors: general characteristics, personal characteristics, job characteristics, assignment experiences, work environment, organization characteristics, work engagement, and organization engagement. Statistical data analysis techniques consisted of frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, independent sample T-test, one- way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. The findings were found as follow. 1.) The overall level of work engagement was high. When considering individual element, dedication was higher than vigor. Absorption was at a moderate level. 2.) The level of organization engagement was generally high. When considering individual element, the Say element was found to be higher than the Strive. The Stay was at a moderate level. 3.) Work engagement yielded highly positive correlation with organization engagement at the 0.01 level of significance (r = .695) 4.) Factors that could predict work engagement included personal characteristic, work environment, and assignment experiences. The three factors could predict work engagement at 43.5 percent. In addition, factors that could predict organization engagement were work environment, personal characteristics, and organization characteristics. The three factors could predict organization engagement at 46.8 percent.
