Abstract

This study aims to estimate the economic valuation of the Ai Khai statue at Chedi Temple in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province in the form of monetary value and using the Zoning Travel Cost Method (ZTCM). The data used in this study were data from interviews with Thai tourists using 140 sample questionnaires. To analyze the factors influencing the journey to Chedi Temple use the Least Squares Method in the form of Multiple Regression Equations. The results showed that the decision to go to the Chedi Temple to worship the Ai Kai statue found that the only factor affecting the decision to go to the Ai Kai statue to worship was the Travel Cost (Tc1). In 2021, the results of the travel cost method for the economic evaluation of the Ai kai statues at Chedi temple are divided into 20 zones. The most of the tourists come from zone 1 Nakhon Si Thammarat province. This is in line with the assumption that those who are near Chedi Temple will have lower travel costs than those who are far away. Therefore, the frequency of going to the recreation area is higher than that of people at a distance. The economic value of the Ai Kai statue in Chedi Temple calculated by this method is 293,033,824.21 baht per year.
